How to use the Polygonal Lasso tool

The key difference between the Lasso and the Polygonal Lasso tools is that while the Lasso is for freehand selections the Polygonal Lasso is for such freehand selection but with geometric or straight lines.

Here is how to use it

  • Select the Polygonal Lasso icon which has a geometric lasso shape ( by hovering over with the mouse it will actually show you which is which)
  • In the appearing „options” in the options bar you can select the blending and further adjustments.
  • Click on the starting point of the image. Then, with each click you will step-by-step select all you want to cut or mark with the help of the lasso tool.
  • You can rework your original selection by selecting one out of the 4 option icons ( New, Add, Subtract, Intersect)
